Loch Vale was meant to be merely a stop along the way to Sky Pond but a storm ended up making it our final destination. After our sunrise hike to Dream Lake we hightailed it to the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center and picked up a backcountry pass for Andrews Creek.

Dream Lake is a heavily photographed sunrise spot in Rocky Mountain National Park and it is easy to see why: it is only a 2.2 mile out-and-back hike and the lake is surrounded by picturesque mountains that are lit up by beautiful alpenglow during sunrise.

It's been exactly 6 months since I was last in Rocky Mountain National Park and it has snowed quite a bit since then. With the winter months winding down I knew there wouldn't be many more opportunities for winter adventures left this season. Not wanting to miss out on a snow covered Rocky Mountain National Park I decided to head there for a long weekend and snowy adventures!
